they don’t make the blues like they used to

If you’re like me, you’re starting to freshen up your music habits about now. Maybe getting out to a few more concerts, maybe putting some new names on your (metaphorical) turntable, maybe picking up your guitar more often, maybe just reading up on someone you might want to go hear. To that end, I’ve added a page of tools. It’s right over there, in the sidebar. Right now it’s blues, because that’s where it starts for me, but it’ll grow. It’s got labels, on-line magazines, radio and pod casts. Check it out for something new to you, or hook me up with something I’m missing. If you got a pile of resources for another genre, bring it on.
If you’re digging into the blues end, one great place to start is the Blues Historian blog, which has been linked from our “elsewhere” section on the side bar for a few weeks now. The guy’s tapped into the blues thread that runs Hicks music in a couple of recent posts. Look around the whole site for a great revisit of some old names or an intro to some new. For a quick link into what he’s posted recently on Hicks, just CLICK ME

the tools link got funky in the night, but I can’t fix it from my iPhone. Sorry follis- I’ll get on it tonight
Ok, whatever was messed up seems to have fixed itself. Too bad life doesn’t work that way more often.
Thank you so much for the all the links. I am new to blues music and have been learning a lot this past year. I really enjoy reading this blog.
