It’s here. Our new message board, the Speakeasy. This takes you there, as does the link in the sideboard above the pics. Be patient as I clear moderation. It’s new, I’m new, but we’ll get it done. If you didn’t read the rest of this post yesterday, it’ll give you a sense of what we’re up to. And the board is fully readable (what there is of it) before you register, so you can look around there, too. Welcome!

It won’t be God, just a little message board, and it’s going up tomorrow (Saturday) around 1pm eastern. Just a way to keep the music conversation going here, letting readers take the lead a little more. Check here mid day for a link in this post and a pointer to its permanent place on the page.

The usual thing in joining a new message board is to lurk and read for a week or so before posting. That’s obviously impossible on a brand new board. What would you read? Originally figured that our regular readers would just quietly slide into the board and post like they do anyway. Hardly a need to moderate. But we’ve had a lot of new readers here this week for the Hicks interview, who’ve not had a chance to get into the music threads and catch the vibe. So I’d invite people to dig around the blog, if they haven’t, and read. Maybe even dive into the June posts when we first went live. That’ll get you swinging the right bat. For everyone, new or otherwise: read the forum guidelines once the place appears.

Short version of what this board will be is a continuation of the blog. A public place for music fans to talk about music, with a bent towards the music of and near Taylor Hicks. We’re particulary interested in being approachable by people first wondering if they’re interested in Hicks. The board will be readable by people without registering. Opinionated opinions are welcome. Come ready to talk about music: bring your ears, your mouth, your wit, your decency, your questions and your sense of humor. Leave your other shit at the door. We’ll have a wonderful caricature of intimacy.
