will it go round in circles
A little video from the last show: something from the album, a cover from the tour, a dip into the past. What’s old? what’s new?

Hey thanks for the vids, redsonja and what. The maze has been one of my fav’s from the cd. Does anyone know is the Wheel Goes Around in Circles, a song that Taylor and Limbo used to do?
I loved the harp/guitar action. I hope Josh continues on with Taylor, they really seem to mesh well.
Was great to see/hear “Circles” again - have always liked that for some reason. Loved the interaction between Taylor and Josh, it just kept getting better and better all through the tour - they should absolutely continue to work together. Really good to hear Brian on the keys again too - missed his touch for the summer shows.
Thank you redsonja for sharing and “what” for posting them.
Thanks for the vids. “Will It Go Round in Circles” was a definite highlight of the night for me. The interaction between Taylor and Josh is something else - hope we get some vids of The Right Place as well - people need to see that. And yes, Trixi, that’s a tune Taylor and LMBO used to do.
What: I tried to send you this in an e-mail, but was told that e-mail address doesn’t exist. So I’m stickin’ it in here as a comment. Maybe one of your readers can help me:
I’m writing a new blog entry about music that moves you so deeply that it makes you cry. Many people point to Taylor’s performance of “Happier with Him” in Maryland, but I can’t find the video. Looks like it was removed from youtube.
But then I thought it might be refreshing to come up with a new performance, anyway. Does anything of Taylor’s pop into your head? I’ve been watching videos for about an hour, but thought it might be quicker to cut to the chase and ask you, since you’re an expert on Taylor’s music.
What I’m looking for is a song that clearly illustrates his ability to convey emotion through a song. Finding a video that makes me feel joyful is easy, but sad? Not so much. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Caryl
Loved that they did Billy Preston’s “Will It Go Round In Circles”! I’m still hoping for a Josh-Taylor co-write for the next CD.
Caryl, I’m going to email you, too, just so you get the right email connection. Don’t know why it didn’t work before.
First of all, I’m no expert on Hicks’ music, but I have listened to everything. That Hagerstown performance of “Hope She’ll Be Happier” was brutally sad. I wish I had good audio of it to see if it’s as searing without the image. Maybe it wouldn’t feel as intrusive that way, either.
Other than that, I’d say the Smith’s recording a few years ago of “Ain’t No Sunshine” would top my list, with Happier from that night a close second. I posted on Sunshine back at the start of this blog:

Thanks for responding! It’s difficult to put into words how a song makes you feel. I’ll be struggling with it all night and I expect to fail. I’m not knocking myself, it’s just reality. I’ve tried before. I read a quote from someone who said something like, “the goosebumps on my arms say more than words ever could.” Wish I’d said that! I may have read it here. Does it ring any bells?
Ha! Yes, I read that here. Meg Collins wrote it in the “I’m Worried Alive” thread that you linked me to. Damn, she wrote eloquently on the very subject I’m blogging about. And so did you. *sigh* I suck. Oh well, I’ll still give it a go and see what I come up with. Thanks for your help.
Caryl — have you listened to Taylor’s recording of People Get Ready and/or Don’t Let me Down? They both give you goosebumps AND makes you cry.
loved LiMBO on “the maze”
