a recipe for cosmic flan

So you’re waiting for Whomp at the Warfield to drop while you figure out how to pay off the credit card bills from your own musical mystery tour this summer. Maybe (like me) you could use a good look laugh in the mirror. A mockumentary making the rounds right now might just fix you up: Les Claypool’s Electric Apricot: Quest for Festaroo has equal-opportunity skewering of musicians, fans, managers, tapers and every other role player in the live music road show (and they seem to know the value of eye-contact).
“…For as great as the fictitious band is, the fringe characters are also classic archetypes of music fandom.
There’s “The Tapers” … who spend their time dwelling on the intricacies of setting up the perfect rig for taping live shows. There’s the fans, desperate to prove they’re the bands number one cheerleader all the while trying to set themselves apart from their pack of twirlers by inventing new dance moves.“from Don. R. Lewis, Film Threat Review
Don’t check out the myspace page, if faux-hippie faux-jamming will scare you away from the theaters.
But also, a little Les Claypool in his day job:

Looking forward to it! Haven’t been to the myspace yet, but if this is a theater release it may be the first thing to get me into a movie theater in a while.
The main website linked above has theater dates for this weekend - a very limited release nationwide. Don’t know what else is coming. I added the trailer above - this looks like my favorite kind of humiliation (well, maybe second favorite).
Looks good. If I can’t see it in the theaters I’ll look for it online. I don’t think Les will mind.
I love that Les Claypool put the Robot Chicken theme on his myspace page. No South Park though?
