ring the bells that still can ring
Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack in everything
That’s how the light gets in.
- Leonard Cohen, Anthem
This seems the time to turn to other things, take care of other things, do what matters, let some light in. A little music might appear here before the month is out, but otherwise, the blog is going to be taking a breather until the new year. Hope you all can find time to breathe, too. See you in 2008.

Worked for me, Morewines. Maybe the problem was fixed.
There was a temporary glitch on the message board earlier today as admin made a couple of changes. If something like that crops up again, please use the email on the blog about page to let me know. I’ll be checking that more regularly than comments. But comments here and at the Speakeasy will stay open unless there would be some good reason to do otherwise. Have a good holiday season, everybody.
I’ve enjoyed reading your blog this year what. Have a happy holiday season with your family.
Sounds like a plan!! I fnd this a very interesting and intelligent site and have enjoyed reading it. Look forward to the New Year. Wish you all Happy Holidays!
what, agree this is a good time for a break and pleased you realize we will be back - not sure about anyone else but I can sure use this chance to get caught up if I need a “fix”.
Happy Holidays what and everyone !
I love the Leonard Cohen bit. I’ll try to keep that in mind when things seem out of control this busy time of year!
In the meantime when I need some sanity I think I’ll look at some of the Days Gone By - I know there is some very good stuff there; can’t thank you enough for turning me on to John Boutte! Just need the time to digest it all (or some of it anyway). I’m trying to develop an appreciation for Delbert McClinton, haven’t yet, but I’m working on it!
Wishing what and everyone Happy Holidays!
Hey there what, hope you enjoy your time off. In the meanatime, I am going to sift through your site…I’ve been absent for awhile and it looks like you’ve posted a lot of good stuff.
Enjoy…see you in 2008…yikes.
Happy Holidays to everyone here! The Rock Center Video brings a groovin smile to my face everytime. Try and watch it with out tapping your toes! See everyone in 2008
Love the raw truth and honesty in Leonard Cohen’s lyrics.
Thank you for this site, what….looking foward to 2008.
I just listened to “River” by Joni Mitchell. I’ll bet Taylor feels that way sometimes: “Wish I had a river I could skate away on…” Sorry to be a downer, but I’ve been to HQ and a couple other sites today and they left me feeling bored and a little sad.
You’d better stick around, what. We need you. Happy Holidays everyone! I’ll take Trixi’s advice and listen to the Rock vid again. That’ll cheer me up.
Hope he didn’t “…make a lot of money and quit this crazy scene…”
and may all your Christmases be white
Here’s some Taylor Hicks music including some Christmas music.

Does anyone have any idea why Gray won’t put archives back up? Some of Taylor’s best moments and our best memories are locked up in there. Don’t you think if someone new googled Taylor’s name, it would be better for them to be directed there than to the yawn-fest that is every other site (c2what excluded, of course!) out there?
Hey, one man’s meat….
- have a mellow Christmas, everybody.
When I try the e-mail address “c2what@gmail.com”, I get this message: “Screen name does not exist.”
Thanks for the link, morewines. I’ve got it playing now and it’s melting me into a groovy kind of mellow (that’s for you, what). Delicious…
^^^ we got this cleared up via email, but in case anyone else is looking and thinks the contact info is off, it’s not. The address has spaces in it as printed on the “about” page to keep spam spiders from finding it and making my life miserable. Take out the spaces, and all is well.
It’s a strange and complicated world we live in. So wonderful and so cruel at the same time. This year instead of presents, we’ve been giving people donations in their name to their favorite charities. Some of us have so much and others so little. That video puts things in perspective. It inspired me to make a small donation to Habitat for Humanity on behalf of all of us at c2what. Maybe other members here could do the same for one of their charities? In any case, joyeux noel to all! What, thank you for this place. And to all of you who have contributed interesting thoughts and all the music of course, thank you also. Someone earlier mentioned John Boutte. I can’t remember who brought up his name first, but that was the find of the year for me!
May you all find some joy and warmth and peace during this holiday season!
Thanks, mama. Cool idea.
