if you believe (in what you do)

You will like the Tommy Castro Band if you like blues guitar and soul. If you like ‘brass with ass.’ If you like that old time rock n’ roll. If you like BB King. If you like Bob Seger. And, as I sit listening to Tommy Castro’s album Painkiller, I realize that most who liked The Taylor Hicks Band in it’s pre-idol form are also probably going to dig the Tommy Castro Band.Oh hell, how could anybody not dig Tommy Castro?

They say that for a good time, you ought to catch the Tommy Castro Band live. How lucky am I? They are from my home town! And how lucky are you? They will be in your town on tour in 2008!

You are right about Tommy really love him I can hear a lot of Delbert Mcclinton. Thanks for the great find, I will be adding him to my collection.
Tommy Castro - One of my all time favorites.
My friends and I always catch himi when he is back in
town. I have most of his CDs my friends have all of his CDs.
He was born in San Jose, CA. He was in reform school and
finally it did reform him and he became a musican. When I
moved to the San Francisco Bay in 1984 Tommy Castro was
a fixture in the city. He was know as the hardest working
band.
Castro doesn’t get much radio play yet has a great
career. The only station to play his music in the Bay Area
is KFOG radio. Castro always thanks KFOG everytime he performs
in the Bay Area. http://tommycastro.com
Painkiller is his current CD. I love the throw back sound
of My Big Sister’s Radio.
I can see Hicks career becoming somewhat like Castro’s. He is on the road year round.
My video from the Fair last year. Hey don’t knock it. I used my
cell phone to record this.

Glad to see you posting something about Tommy Castro.
I’ll have to catch these guys next time they come around. I peaked at their website when I was at work and was all freaked to get home and download the song they did with Angela Strehli, only the download failed to decode. Other downloads worked. If anyone manages grab that Strehli file, hook me up, por favor.
If You Believe (In What You Do) …with Angela Strehli
(edited to remove link)
Ok, cool and thanks. But the download that wasn’t working was the one from the download page on his website: Big Town Playboy. Not that I’m dying for just that song, but was wondering if anyone else had managed to grab it.
Well I gave it a shot over there, but no go.
The link works fine. I’m playing it in Winamp right now.
I was just going to say that Tommy Castro really reminds me of Delbert McClinton, then I clicked on comments and that was the first comment. I’m saying it anyway.
I looked at his tour schedule but there’s nothing close to Texas. Oh well, I can buy the CD and I think I will.
Here is another current article on Tommy Castro.

Yeah, man — that was some G-O-O-D throwback blues muscic to start the morning with. Right on point with your comment on the comparison with Taylor Hicks and Tommy Castro — a lot of Taylor’s jam band music sounds just like Tommy’s funk now!
